My paper “Construcción de conocimiento crítico, transdisciplinario y disposicional mediante un diseño tipográfico” (Construction of Critical, Transdisciplinary, and Dispositional Knowledge through Typographic Design) just got published on the journal Cruce, of the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Communications of the Metropolitan University, Puerto Rico.
In it I discussed the research model (Design Exploration) used for the Hotel Excelsior project, focusing on the phenomenon of material culture. The paper also explores how non-academic communities of practice can construct knowledge in design practice in the context of the professional world, and how these educational approaches are different from the construction of technical and discipline knowledge, which is the standard of teaching at many design schools.
